Nirvana CBD Softgels FAQs

CBD, a shortened term for cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in plants belonging to the cannabis sativa family.

Cannabidiol belongs to a group of chemical compounds classified as cannabinoids, and there are over 100 cannabinoids that have been discovered within cannabis. Another one of these cannabinoids is delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), the component of cannabis that is primarily responsible for the plant’s intoxicating, mind-altering properties. Unlike Δ9-THC, CBD is completely non-intoxicating and will not induce the mind-altering effects associated with being “high.”

As a highly diverse compound, CBD is used in a variety of different types of hemp products, like CBD gel caps, for its wide range of natural and therapeutic properties.

Δ9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC)–the major active compound found in cannabis–is the component of cannabis that is primarily responsible for the plant’s intoxicating properties. To clarify, Δ9-THC is the component of cannabis that induces the mind-altering effects referred to as “getting high.”

Unlike Δ9-THC, Cannabidiol (CBD) is non-intoxicating, which means that it will not get you high.

At Nirvana CBD, all of our products are considered “broad spectrum,” which means that they contain all cannabinoids and terpenes found naturally in the cannabis plant, excluding Δ9-THC. As such, our CBD capsules, and all other Nirvana CBD products, won’t get you high.

All Nirvana products, including our CBD softgels, are made exclusively from hemp plants.

Hemp and marijuana are both classifications used to describe different varieties of cannabis.

According to the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, the term “Hemp” is used to classify varieties of cannabis that contain 0.3% or less THC content by dry weight. In comparison, the term “marijuana” is used to classify varieties of cannabis that contain more than 0.3% THC content by dry weight.

With less than 0.3% THC content, the amount of THC in hemp is so low that it would be impossible for it to induce intoxicating properties (or “get you high”) when consumed. Marijuana, on the other hand, can contain up to 30% THC content, and can most definitely get you high.

This key difference between hemp and marijuana is the primary reason why one of the plant varieties is completely legal under federal law (hemp) while the other (marijuana) is not.

In order to meet the highest quality and transparency standards possible, all Nirvana CBD products are rigorously tested for potency, purity, and quality by an ISO-certified 3rd party lab.

The most recent Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each of our products can be accessed by scanning the QR code found on each product or by visiting the “Lab Reports” page of our website.

Neither CBD Softgels nor CBD oil tinctures are necessarily better than the other. While tinctures may be preferred by some, soft gels are best for others.

Ultimately, the optimal consumption method will depend on the needs and preferences of the individual.

With that being said, here are a few common advantages of CBD softgels to consider:

  • Convenient, discreet, and portable usage
  • Consistent and accurate dosages
  • Familiar usage method

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to this question. Due to the diverse factors that can impact how CBD interacts with the body, such as weight, medical history, metabolism, discomfort level, and consumption method, the optimal dose of CBD will vary between individuals.

In general, it is recommended to start with a lower dose and adjust up or down as needed until you achieve the desired effects.

While we typically recommend taking 1 to 2 softgel capsules per day as needed, we strongly advise consulting with your doctor or health physician in order to properly determine your optimal CBD dosage.

Nirvana CBD softgels contain less than 0.3% THC–the maximum amount of THC allowed by law, and a negligible trace amount that would not show up on a THC drug test.

While it is rare, some drug screenings are designed to detect other cannabinoids besides THC. With that being said, it is highly advised to consult with whoever is administering the drug screening to learn what types of substances you are being tested for before trying any CBD product.

Under the Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, hemp and its derived products were federally legalized. As a derivative of hemp, our broad spectrum CBD softgels less than 0.3% THC content and are federally legal in the United States.
